The Cathach
THE CATHACH is an online literary magazine, published bi-annually by Sligo County Libraries, with the aim of showcasing quality new writing in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction. While honouring the literary traditions of Sligo and the Northwest, THE CATHACH features work from both new and established writers in Sligo and throughout Ireland. At a time when many smaller literary magazines are facing difficulties, it aims to provide a vital outlet for the best contemporary writing, making exciting new work freely available to a vast online readership around the world.
Sligo Libraries are dedicated to developing, supporting and promoting literature throughout Sligo and the North West, and THE CATHACH is a unique part of this endeavour, bringing writers and readers together in an online reading-room where quality and newness meet. Please join us.
- Submissions to THE CATHACH are invited bi-annually.
- The next issue is Summer 09. Submission deadline is 22nd May 2009.
- Short Fiction or Non Fiction up to 4000 words.
- Poems can be any length.
- Work to be emailed to editorthecathach@sligococo.ie
