Children's Book Festival

Presented by Children's Books Ireland in partnership with the Youth Libraries Group, the Children's Book Festival is a nationwide celebration of children's books and reading, held every year during the month of October. .

Now in its eighteenth consecutive year, the Children's Book Festival has established itself as a major focus for the children’s books community in Ireland and is by far the largest event of its kind in the country.

Creative Writing Event makes a big impression in Sligo Central Library!

Author David Donoghue hosted creative writing workshops and author readings in Sligo Central Library on the 20th & 23rd October, Enniscrone National School  21st October and Tubbercurry Community Library 22nd October 2009. Fifteen Children from Grange and Rathcormac National Schools attended the sessions in Sligo Central Library and were delighted with the skills and knowledge gained from the experience.
